Expanding and Enhancing the Orthopaedic Library

In case you missed it, Understand.com has been busy expanding and enhancing our Orthopaedic Library with the addition of  the new Anterior Hip Replacement animation and the updated releases of  our Total Knee Replacement and Partial Knee Replacement animations. 

These animations utilize new photo-realistic 3D models and textures that depict these orthopaedic procedures in incredibly lifelike, beautiful detail. Additionally, these animations have been created in HD format to enhance viewers’ experience.

The Deep Dives™ 3D Web App Provides Unprecedented Orthopedic Education for Patients and Healthcare Professionals

Deep Dive™ Knee - Displaying Torn ACL Pathology

 

Patients and healthcare professionals will have a better understanding of common orthopedic diseases thanks to the Deep Dives™, a new 3D multi-media web application. Launched today by global medical education company Understand.com™, the Deep Dives™ combine highly detailed 3D interactive models, image stills, and surgical video to give users a complete understanding of the anatomy and pathologies of the knee, hip, and shoulder.

Information seekers can access the Deep Dives™ on their physicians web site to explore accurate 3D visualizations of complicated anatomy and learn about common disease pathologies such as Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Torn Meniscus to name a few. Each Deep Dive™ topic allows the viewer to rotate the model and choose from a selection of anatomical positions and structures that can be turned on or off individually.

Supporting the visual elements of the orthopedic Deep Dives™ are concise audio narratives of each disease and disorder featured, including its common causes, symptoms and treatment.

Today Understand.com™ announced a new product upgrade that allows all Understand.com™ plastic surgery, orthopedic, and dermatology patient education libraries to work on the iPad and other tablet devices. The expansion will be available to all existing physician clients at no additional charge.

The expanded patient education libraries include hundreds of 3D medical animations that give patients a better understanding of their condition and what to expect if surgery is an option. The brief animations visualize simple yet thorough descriptions of complex healthcare procedures and include:

Understand.com today announced the expansion of its orthopedic patient education library with the addition of animated procedures for hand, wrist, foot and ankle.
