Once you arrive at our downtown office - either by pedal, paddle or foot power (we encourage alternative commute methods such as kayaking, riding your bike, skateboarding or walking) there is no need to sweat being sweaty...we have showers in-office to clean up before grabbing your morning Joe at the neighborhood cafe. If it's Wednesday, we'll provide the morning meal at our weekly Bagel meeting - a company-wide meeting where we all discuss company status, achievements, successes and where any of us could use assistance. Later in the day, we may continue the discussion on our patio over a cold beverage. Let’s not forget, we're a profitable company focused on growth and got here by working hard, rewarding hard work, dedication, passion, accountability, and a commitment to growing our business. This mindset attracts the best and brightest and is a key ingredient to our success.
Dress Code
Some days it's shorts and flip flops; other days it might be jeans and a Hawaiian shirt. Occasionally we put on a suit and tie for those big, power meetings.
Training
If it's going to enhance your skill set and make you more productive and valuable - make a case....we'll listen and evaluate. We believe that happiness and productivity come from well trained and skilled employees.
Work Hours
Someone is in the office during regular business hours, which are 8:00am - 5:00pm. You might show up to the office by 8:00am. Unless it's a powder day, or you've decided on a morning ride or whitewater session. In that case, we'll see you strolling home later in the evening. But that's OK, many Understanders do their best work later in the day, so you won't be eating pizza alone. Vacation...sure. You're eligible to earn up to 2 weeks in your first year, in addition to a liberal "sick" policy. Longevity at Understand earns you up to 4 weeks vacation.
Social Functions
We're a social group. Most of our activities are spontaneous and created on the fly. Organized activities include: Bagel meetings every Wednesday morning. Director of Fun events. Limo caravans. Virtual Golf. Halo competitions for Starbucks cards (our CEO is reigning Champ).
